FAQs

Thinking about volunteering at St. Andrew’s? Here are answers to some frequently asked questions. We’re always happy to chat if you’d like to learn more.

Not necessarily! Many volunteer roles are open to regular attendees who are still exploring membership. If you’re interested in serving, reach out and we can help find the right fit for where you are in your journey with us.

It depends on the role! Some teams serve every Sunday, while others — like our Behind-the-Scenes team — support projects periodically throughout the year. We’ll work with your schedule to find a commitment level that works for you.

Most roles don’t require any prior experience — just a willing heart! Training is provided for technical roles like Production, and our team leaders are always there to guide and support you. If you have a specific skill or passion, we’d love to help you put it to use.

A great place to start is asking yourself what you enjoy and where you feel called to serve. Whether that’s working with children, caring for others, leading a small group, or serving behind the scenes, we’ll help connect you with a ministry that aligns with your gifts and passions.

That’s completely okay! We want serving to be life-giving, not stressful. If a role isn’t clicking, we’ll work with you to explore other areas where you might thrive. Finding your right place is part of the journey.

Yes. For the safety of our congregation, especially our children and vulnerable members, all volunteer applicants are required to be fingerprinted through the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Your background check results are strictly confidential and will only be reviewed by St. Andrew’s designated Custodian of Records. Your privacy is important to us.
