Whittier Serve Day Recap

January 27, 2015 1 Comment Share

On Saturday, January 24th, 70 members of the St. Andrew’s Family descended onto the Whittier Elementary School campus in Costa Mesa to serve their neighbors.  Teams painted new murals, helped set up a technology center, transformed gardens, and spruced up playground and common areas.  Perhaps the most dramatic transformation was the preschool garden that was transformed into a wonderful learning garden!

Similar to the first Serve Day in August 2014, this effort was successful due to the great hospitality of Whittier Elementary staff, countless servant leaders and many willing hands.  Whittier Elementary Ministry Lead, Steven Kishi said, “Our ministry relationship with Whittier continues to grow and prosper each time, we step onto the campus.”

This serve day is part of a multi-prong approach designed to help every child in our community reach their full potential.  In addition to serve days, volunteers provide reading assistance in the classroom and support special events throughout the year.   For more information, visit www.sapres.org/send/here.
