This was another meaningful day. Thank you for praying!
The Bible School crew met early with the summer teacher and student volunteers to pray. Today the students opened up with us, telling us stories about their difficult home lives and how much they appreciate being loved. We learned about Jonah– his hope in God, his need for God’s help, and God’s never ending forgiveness.
The construction crew finished all the structural piling for the kitchen, started the Formica counter tops in the Internet cafe, broke off the molded portion of the chapel ceiling, and reset a toilet in President Lane’s home. We feel unified and enjoy working as a team– laughing and feeling God’s Spirit encouraging us throughout the day.
Tonight we helped Mendenhall Ministries put on the community watch gathering. More than 30 families came with more than 75 people. The new Chief of Police of Mendenhall city came and spoke (he is the first ever African American Chief for this city). The sherif of Simpson County who is a pastor on the weekend came and encouraged them to be connected with the larger county. People from the community in the forties shared stories. We ended the night with a prayer walk around the neighborhood.
There are countless stories to share…
