Local Anti-Human Trafficking Launch

July 15 | 12:30 p.m. | Grace Chapel

After nearly two years of meetings, discernment and a lot of prayer; we are delighted to share that we are ready to engage in local anti-human trafficking efforts! We invite you to come to the upcoming information meeting to learn about the various ways to get involved. We will share about the ministries we are walking alongside, discuss their training requirements, and answer any other questions you have.

In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek…

St. Andrew’s is currently partnered with Orange County Rescue Mission (OCRM) through our monthly Chili Serve event benefitting local homeless residents. We are deepening our partnership by coming alongside their newly-launched Strong Beginnings program. OCRM just opened up four beds at their Village of Hope campus in Tustin for victims of human trafficking, and have developed specialized services for survivors through this ground-breaking program. Through proactive, prayerful conversation; OCRM has invited the people of St. Andrew’s to come alongside and invest in the survivors and their children once they are rescued.

This is a tremendous opportunity to reflect Jesus and to live into our REAL values as a congregation. To serve alongside the survivors, there will be a mandatory training on Saturday, August 18 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Click Here to read more about Strong Beginnings in an article featured on the front page of the OC Register from last Friday.

The second opportunity is with a ministry called Lives Worth Saving. This is a ministry outreach to women enslaved in our local sex trade. These girls and young women are controlled by traffickers and moved along the “track” (the route used by traffickers to move the victims) throughout California and other states. There are opportunities for both men and women to serve.

We invite you to prayerfully considering whether God is inviting you to serve alongside these powerful ministries. Sadly, human trafficking is alive and growing in Orange County and around the world. We believe that this worldwide degradation of men and women and the atrocity of trafficking will only be thwarted, as the church of Jesus Christ unites together in heart, prayer, and action to follow the Holy Spirit to act. We hope you’ll join us, as we stand together in the name of Jesus to reach those enslaved in human trafficking both near and far.
