Last week, three people from St. Andrew’s had the privilege of attending an Easter service for 12 youth in Juvenile aHll through our mission partner, Pacific Youth Correctional Ministry (PYCM). Each teen came of their own accord to this special service. They heard the Gospel message, watched a video on Christ’s death for them, shared in a time of worship and participated in communion. The service was led by Chaplain Rick Johnson and his colleague, Sherry. During the service, the youth were invited to write down their sin and shame and then place that paper on a cross. They were then given a promise card that had a verse on it and were encouraged to hold tightly to the truth about them. St. Andrew’s members then went around with the cross as each boy or girl was able to nail their sin to the cross. There was a visible difference in the room at the end of the evening and we know that the Spirit of God was present and working!
