Charlene Foell’s Heart for Service

November 20, 2018 1 Comment Share

Charlene Foell is a wife, mother, and active member within the St. Andrew’s community. In addition to serving as a ministry lead over our Project Hope Alliance partnership and regularly helping out with family ministries events, Charlene still makes time to serve as opportunities arise. She recently served at the Whittier Elementary School Serve Experience during their book fair and community barbeque.

“I have always played an active role at my children’s school and have been a volunteer for many years. The Whittier Elementary School serve experience presented us with an opportunity to see and experience an entirely different community with different needs. It’s incredibly uplifting to see smiles and appreciation on children’s and parent’s faces as they received their free books and shared a meal with one another. The day was filled with debating book choices, laughing with parents and friends, and dancing to music. It felt more like a party than a serve event! Something that stood out to me was when I was watching the event, God opened up my daughter’s heart to other kids that she didn’t know. She even shared her love of books and reading by offering her own recommendations! What was originally approached as a job to be organized and efficiently carried out, God used to show me the light of relational ministry.”

Our ministry partnerships are nothing without our congregation being the hands and feet to carry out our mission, to follow Jesus Christ together to lead lives that reveal God’s goodness. To find out more about our Whittier Elementary School and other ministry partnerships, please email info@sapres.org or visit the Connect Center during weekend services.

It was so good to see you in person to express my gratitude and refocusing my heart on the “importance of relationships” vs. getting the tasks done! This warms my heart and thank you for sharing your thoughts! There were so many that were the hands of feet to Jesus that day – God was at work in so many ways!

    Bless you and your family!
