Hume Lake Summer Camp

Last Saturday a bus full of students returned home from an incredible week of camp at Hume Lake, which is arguably the premier Christian camp in all of California. It was a great time for students to get away from their busy schedules and sit under gifted teachers of God’s Word, enjoy God’s beautiful creation, enjoy high energy programs and activities, and respond to all that they were learning throughout the week. It was a great way to end the summer and get ready for the school year that will begin sooner than the students like to admit!

At Hume, our students developed a hunger for God that has us really excited about the work that He is doing in each of them. Typically we take the last few weeks of the summer to “go dark” while we gear up for our fall programs, but this year, at the request of students, we will be facilitating a time of prayer and praise on Wednesday nights from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. The purpose of this time is simply to continue encouraging students to pursue Jesus with the same passion and intensity they did at camp, and to challenge the other students who were not at camp to do the same thing. Jr. High and High School will meet every Wednesday night in the Chapel through September 24, and we will kick off our fall programs in the new facility the first week of October.

There is a lot to look forward to in the next few months in Student Ministries including the opening of the new Student Center, the grand opening celebration and the revealing of a completely new Student Ministry (staff, structure, program, etc). Stay tuned for lots of exciting news from the Student Ministries, and if you are a parent please plan to join us for a special meeting on Sunday September 7 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel. We hope you will come and see all that we are excited about!

Peace,

David Ludwig
